Taylor swift named 2014 billboard woman of the year

The singer has been named the 2014
Billboard Woman of the Year -- the first artist to ever receive the honor
twice.
"As one of the most influential
artists of her generation, Taylor Swift has seen incredible success on the
Billboard charts,” said Janice Min, co-president and chief creative officer of
Guggenheim Media's Entertainment Group, which consists of Billboard and The
Hollywood Reporter. "Over the course of her career, she’s charted 60
entries on the Billboard Hot 100 -- the most of any female artist since her
debut in 2006. We are tremendously excited to be honoring her as the 2014
Billboard Woman of the Year for the second time."
The award goes to the female artist
who "has shaped and inspired the music industry with her success,
leadership and innovation over the past twelve months."
Taylor Swift is a seven-time
Grammy winner, and is the best-selling digital music artist of all time.
She's also the only female artist in music history (and just the fourth artist
ever) to twice have an album hit the 1 million first-week sales figure
(2010's Speak Now and 2012's Red). Swift
made her latest chart headlines when her newest single, "Shake It
Off," became her second Billboard Hot 100 No. 1, following "We Are
Never Ever Getting Back Together."
"On behalf of American Express,
I would like to congratulate Taylor Swift on this incredible honor," said
Deborah Curtis, vice president of entertainment and sports marketing at
American Express. "We are proud to be a long-time partner of Taylor's and
are thrilled for her continued success and well-deserved recognition
as Billboard's Woman of the Year."
Swift will be feted at the 9th
annual Billboard Women in Music Awards on Dec. 12 in New York City.
Ariana
Grande Confirms Relationship with Big Sean
….I
Think the World of Him

After months of Ariana Grande, 21,
and Big Sean, 26, playing coy at rumors that the frequent collaborators are
dating which includes holding hands backstage at the MTV Video Music Awards and wearing matching lion necklaces ,the "Problem" singer finally confirmed their
relationship
When asked if she's dating the
rapper, Ariana replied, "Yes. He is one of the most amazing men in the
whole world, and that includes my grandfather and my brother."
And the gushing didn't stop there.
"I think the world of him, and
he's an amazing person," she said. "That's kind of all there is to
it."
Her comments are especially
meaningful given that Ariana's grandfather passed away from cancer this July at 90 years old.
"He was like, 'you’re a star, and
I know in my heart you're going to make this family so proud. You're a
blessing,'" she told Seventeen magazine about her grandfather's sweet words to her before he passed
away. "And I was like, 'oh my God,' and started crying, and I trusted
it."
Previously, Ariana had only
responded that she was "happy" when asked about the relationship
between her and Big Sean.
"Y'all are putting me on the
spot!" she told Matt Lauer during her Today show appearance in late August,
adding, "I'm happy."
And just like that, music's worst-kept
secret is officially out in the open!
Though for Big Sean's sake, let's
just hope Ariana doesn't kiss and tell. In August, she made headlines when she
revealed that her new song "Break Your Heart Right Back" was about
her getting cheated on by an
ex-boyfriend with another guy.
Michael Jackson Leads Highest Earning Dead Celebrities List for 2014
Are we so sure the King of Pop is truly dead?
Nothing stops a dead man from raking in more cash, but how does he do it?
Late Michael Jackson is on top of Forbes’s current 2014 List of Highest Earning Dead Celebrities.
The legendary pop star raked in an estimated $140 million in the past year for his estate.
According to Forbes, the late King of Pop has surpassed Rock n Roll legend Elvis Presley's record earning more than twice of what the star is earning in death.
It is Jackson's second straight year atop the list. He regained the title in 2013, a year after being pushed into second place by actress Elizabeth Taylor.
However, Presley landed on the second spot bringing in $55 million after his death in 1997 which is three times more than cartoonist and Peanuts comic strip creator Charles Schulz, who occupied the third place with US$40 million.
"Few celebrities prove the point that there is (financial) life after death better than Michael Jackson," Forbes said.
Who doesn't want to be M.J in death... put your hands up!
Jessica Vanessa: Professional Twerking has make me rich and famous
For former teaching assistant, Jessica Vanessa, taking twerking as a profession has not only brought her fame, but has also ensured she makes loads of money.
Are you still of the belief that twerking is a sin and morally corrupts the mind? Well, know it that you can twerk for a living. That is what a 22-year-old former Florida teaching assistant, Jessica Vanessa, has taken as a profession and since she began professional twerking, she has been grossing over $10,000 annually.
Jessica decided to quit her day job and take to shaking her bottom and she has become a social media star who captivates audiences from around the world with her hypnotic gyrating.
Jessica, who was formerly working as a teaching assistant from Florida, quit her job in order to pursue her twerking career after advertisers discovered her dance moves through her Vine videos.
For Jessica, quitting her role as a teacher was a no-brainer when she did the maths and realized that she could be earning more twerking than she could ever have dreamed of working in a school.
Presently, Jessica has over two million Vine followers, and large companies are queuing up to pay her large amounts of money in exchange for her mentioning their products to her two million strong following.
She said “What I make in six seconds would take me four months
to make as a teaching assistant. It’s definitely a blessing. I bought a new
car, paid it off in full and I was able to get out of debt from the school that
I graduated from.”
It’s quite simple really, the more followers you get, the more
advertisers want to pay you for mentioning their products – and I’ve got lots.
Quitting my job was definitely a risk because I knew once I quit, there was no
turning back.
Either I make money doing these videos or I’m going to be broke
and jobless. When I was younger, I was very shy and I didn’t like dancing in
front of anybody. Then I kind of fell in with a different crowd and got more
confident.
By the time I hit high school, I was definitely a party girl. I
do get plenty of rude and mean comments. I’ve even had two breakdowns over them
– where I have literally locked myself in my room and considered taking down
all of my social media accounts.
I’m not a celebrity but I do get a taste of what they have to
go through. I have strangers calling me a whore, people calling me fat, people
calling me ugly, people saying just about any mean thing you could say.
People like to define you as a whore for twerking but it’s just
a type of dance, that’s it, if people were open-minded they would understand
that. My family is very open-minded, they don’t look at it in any type of
sexual way, they don’t look at it as degrading, and they’re very supporting.
I would have no problem showing my grandmother my twerking
videos – she is wild and crazy and would probably want to join in with me. As a
little girl, I always wanted to be somebody big, I always wanted to entertain
people, I would sing, I would dance, I would do whatever it took and if I got a
laugh out of people I knew I was doing something right.
I always enjoyed doing random crazy stuff so when I got a day
job it was not something I enjoyed doing. Now I look at Vine as an outlet to
many different opportunities which I enjoy doing now.

MI Rapper Says Exit of Jesse Jagz Affected Him
The rapper's next album set for October release
M.I said the departure of his brother, Jesse Jagz, from Chocolate City affected him musically.
"Chairman is a song I released last year and the next day after I released the song, a couple of changes started happening in the label. First, my brother (Jesse Jagz) wanted to leave which I didn’t know about. We discussed it and I understood where he was going with that. But, it just sort of changed the dynamic of the label and what happens with music is that, when you are producing music and relying on people, when that changes, you might need some time to reassess and come back" he revealed.
Jesse Jagz left Chocolate City in June, 2013 when his contract expired.
He also stated that the reason why he didn't
release much material last year was that, after putting out the chairman
song , all sorts of opportunities came up and I was so busy. I was travelling,
all over the place and didn’t have time to record. But this year, we made a conscious
decision with my management that M.I is not going to do anything until this
album is done" he said. M.I is set to release his third album 'Chairman'
this month.
Uche Jombo top List Of
Nollywood Most Influential Women 2014
iCampus newspaper, , an entertainment and media entrepreneur has released its list of top Nollywood’s most influential women. The list which has many of the expected names of actresses on it is rather surprising due to the ranking.
The list which affirmed that there are only few
leading women in Nollywood saw Uche Jombo topping the list. Other that follow
suit include: Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Dominic, Ini Edo,
Mercy Johnson, Blessing Effiong Egbe, Kate Henshaw, Omotola
Jalade-Ekeinde, Omoni Oboli, Emem Isong and Stephanie Okereke.
According to the list, many of these actresses strutt the stage of
stardom, power and influence with attendant noise while some of them go about
wielding their power, influence and making and spending their money with no
attention. To some, being on the cover of every paper and magazine is the true
testament of their status while for others, being behind it is the true test of
power. The list which made it known that fakery, façade, and those merely putting up appearance of wealth, true moneybags (comparatively) of a sort exist in the industry, asserted that just like the aphorism goes, ‘existence of fake, is proof that real exists.’
The list which is in no particular order is based on the kind of money being generated in the industry, from investment, endorsement, volume of work (directly owned), popularity, brand value, and influence among the powers-that-be in politics, business and industry.
With over 16 movies, no actress in Nigeria can boast of heavy movie catalogue like Uche Jombo. There is also no other actress that commands the kind of reverence Uche does among fellow actresses and actors, most especially the young ones. The general saying is, Uche now has power to make star of a starlet, and only a handful of people will fall into that category in Nollywood.
Despite being active production-wise, Uche’s face still adorns numerous posters as lead actress. Aside being the highest grossing actress-producer among her colleagues, Uche has two known properties, one in Lagos, the other in Abia, her home town (where she is a chief). Her influence in and out of the industry is definitely not in doubt.
