The immediate past Special
Adviser to the President on Performance Monitoring and Evaluation, Professor
Sylvester Monye has outlined his vision to make Delta State a top three
performing economy in Nigeria by the year 2020.
Professor Monye made the
comments at the PDP Headquarters in Abuja, while submitting his nomination form
for the gubernatorial primaries which come up later this month.
In espousing his vision, the
governorship aspirant promised to build on the Four Pillars of his Social
Contract with Deltans on [i] Human Capital Development, [ii] Peace and Security
founded on equity, justice and fairness, [iii] Real Sector Development, and
[iv] Infrastructural Development.
He plans to harness the rich
economic resources of the State to establish a solid foundation that is
anchored on integrity, good governance, transparency and accountability.
Professor Sylvester Monye further promised to strengthen the drive on the
trajectory of Delta-Beyond-Oil.
Prof. Sylvester Monye served
as Executive Secretary of the National Planning Commission for between 2006 and
2011.
